A wonderful stay!

My husband and I stayed at The Cardinals Nest in Galena this past weekend, and it was absolutely wonderful. Jonathan and Brianna, made us feel incredibly welcome. Their warmth, hospitality, and genuine passion for hosting truly set this place apart. They provided fantastic recommendations for local restaurants and attractions, which made exploring Galena even more enjoyable. The home itself is beautiful, meticulously maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Every detail—from the cozy décor to the pristine cleanliness—showed how much care they put into creating a relaxing, memorable stay. We highly recommend The Cardinals Nest to anyone visiting Galena and will definitely be staying here again. A true gem!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Cardinals’ Nest. It was in a perfection location and slept 6 adults comfortably. The owners were very accommodating and quick to respond. If you are traveling with a group of adults and even with kids, this is the spot for you.

Fabulous Labor Day Getaway

We had a wonderful trip with my family including our almost two year old and our dog! The home was extremely clean, cozy and entertaining! My daughter enjoyed all of the toys and books that were at the Cardinals Nest. Close proximity to downtown Galena, the Owners Club and several different trails and paths. We would definitely visit again!

A Home Away From Home

We had the most wonderful stay at the Cardinal's Nest ! From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the owners put a lot of thought and care into making sure everything was perfect. The home was spotless, organized, and every room had a special touch that made it feel incredibly welcoming. You can truly tell they care about both their property and their guests. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you'd need, and we were impressed by the thoughtful binder they provided with meticulous details about the home and the surrounding area. The Brita filter in the fridge, coffee k- cups, candy treats, and variety of dishware for kids and adults were just a few of the many little things that made the space feel like home. The bathrooms were equally well-equipped, with jars of mini essentials for anything you might have forgotten to pack — a thoughtful and practical touch! Each living room had adorable decor, cozy soft blankets, and a comforting atmosphere. Downstairs, there was a washer and dryer with everything needed to leave as clean as you came. The upstairs family room was a perfect retreat, complete with a fireplace, toys and books for kids, games, puzzles, and access to TV streaming services. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the extra pillows and the pack and play for our little one. To top it all off, we were welcomed with a jar of jam from a local Galena shop and a heartfelt thank-you card, and throughout our stay, the hosts kept in touch, making sure everything was going smoothly. They truly thought of everything, and we couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, fun, and well-equipped place to stay. We highly recommend this getaway to anyone — you won’t be disappointed!

We had an amazing stay at The Cardinal's Nest! The home was spotless and well-maintained, offering a perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. It’s located close enough to downtown Galena to enjoy all the sights, yet far enough to provide a peaceful retreat. The owners have truly thought of every detail—from a fully stocked kitchen to thoughtful touches like soap in the bathrooms. They’re incredibly responsive and know the area well, providing great recommendations for food and activities. Whether you’re traveling with kids or adults, this place has something for everyone—games, pool passes, and plenty of ideas for things to do in the area. The perfect getaway. Highly recommend!
